وہ فریب خوردہ شاہین جو پلا ہو کرگسوں میں، اسے کیا خبر کہ کیا ہے رہ و رسم شاہ بازی
Everything in the world is made/created for a purpose. Human being is also created for a purpose.
Some times when someone or something forgets about its aim or something else, then reminding it helps
catching back to the position from where it has forgot. BUT if the person “forget his/her forgetfulness”,
then it is very difficult to remind it of its aim. For example, if you forget meeting a person then its
easy to remind you that you were supposed to meet someone, BUT “if you forget that you have forgotten
something”, then it is very difficult to remind you that you were supposed to meet someone. Similarly we
as Human beings especially as Muslims have forgotten the forgetfulness. To know our way back, Allah(SWT) the Almighty
remind us as follows.
Allah(SWT) has granted us with four relations
1: “Huwajtabakum”: That “He has chosen you”. Just like a buyer buying fruit tries to choose the good ones
and then buy it, in the same way Allah(SWT) says(in arabic “Ijtaba”), i have chosen you among the Humanity. Chosen for what?? come at the end.
2: “Kuntum khaira ummatin ukhrijat”: That “You are indeed the best nation which has ever been brought forth for [the good] of mankind”. Why?? comes at the end.
3: “Ummatan wasata”: That “You are the ummat of relationship/binding or a middle community”. There is no Prophet after
Muhammad(P.B.U.H), and it is this ummah which will bind the Humanity to Allah(SWT).
4: “li takunu-sh-shuhada ‘alan-nas”: That “that you may be witnesses over mankind”.
Allah(SWT) the Almighty in Quran has mentioned the Jews and Christians as “Ahlul Kitab”, the Kuffars
as “Ahlul kuffar”, BUT to Muslims, Allah(SWT) has mentioned 190 times as “Ya ayyuhallazeena aamanoo”, “That O you who believe”.
In the second relation Allah(SWT) could have used the arabic word “Kharajat” which means you have chosen yourself
OR “Talaat” or “Barazat”, BUT Allah(SWT) has used the beautiful word “Ukhrijat” which identifies the importance and special attention.
Now what are all the above relations granted for?? Thes are granted because “We the Ummat has the duty to
convey the message of Allah(SWT) to the Humanity”, as there is no prophet coming after Muhammad(P.B.U.H).
But if the Ummah does not know “what his/her responsibility is?”, then even if you remind him/her about fulfilling the responsibility,
He will not be able to understand or figure out. Therefore, we need to remind our brothers that we have a responsibility and the
nature of our responsibility as Allah(SWT) has described briefly in the above four granted relations.
Allama Iqbal(R.A) says:
“مدّت ہوئی صیّاد نے چھوڑا بھی تو کیا ، تاب پرواز نہیں رہ چمن یاد نہیں “, and in another place he says
“وہ فریب خوردہ شاہین جو پلا ہو کرگسوں میں، اسے کیا خبر کہ کیا ہے رہ و رسم شاہ بازی “.
May Allah(SWT) guide us to know our responsibility and to fulfil it to our full strength.
